Competitor Watch
Watch up to 5 competitors. Each run reads their home, pricing, product, careers and press pages and searches for news and new press releases about them, then lists every change worth a look. Once a week, when that day's allowance has room, it also reads one competitor's recent public posts, from the account its home page links to.
Competitor Watch explained 🔰
- It watches up to 5 competitors and lists every change on their sites that is worth a look - their pricing, product, positioning, hiring or press.
- You enter each competitor's name and website. Optionally, add the page where it is reviewed and the page that lists its ads, each read once a week, and switch on a check of funding and headcount once a month - both when your limits have room that day.
- Each run reads up to 5 pages of each site - home, pricing, product, careers and press, never the blog - and searches the web for news about them. A page is compared with its last reading, so changes show from the second run on, each with its kind and what changed.
- Press releases and posts: once a week, when your limits have room that day, a run also looks for press releases from the week before that name each competitor, and reads the recent public posts of one competitor - a different one each time - from the social account its home page links to.
- How often: a new watch runs at the next hourly run if your limits allow it, then once a day.
- Run now starts a run by hand, once a day across all your loops, and only while none of them is in the middle of a run. Your loops also share a spending limit; a run it holds back waits for its next turn.
- If 3 runs in a row fail, the loop pauses. Saving it again starts it again.
- A daily email sums up what your loops found - one email a day, and only on a day one of them found something. It is on until you switch it off - on a loop's page once the loop is part of your plan, or, if your plan includes Loops, on your dashboard.
- What it does not do: sign in anywhere. The posts it reads are public ones, from the account a competitor's own home page names.
- To stop it, use Remove this watch. Its past runs are kept.
