Contract Reader

Upload a contract or another document you were asked to sign. Contract Reader reads it and tells you, in plain words, what it says and which clauses are worth a second look.

Contract Reader explained 🔰
  • It reads a contract or another document you were asked to sign and explains it in plain words: a short summary, and up to 12 clauses worth a second look, each with the sentence it quotes and what that may mean for you.
  • You choose one PDF or Word document and press Read it.
  • Each reading takes the document's text - a long one only up to its first 80,000 characters - and lists a clause only when the sentence it quotes is in your document word for word. A reading never calls your document safe or fair, and never tells you whether to sign it.
  • What is kept: your readings, listed on this page newest first. The file is deleted after it is read - within about a day whatever happens - and its text is not stored.
  • It runs when you ask, and the reading shows here when it is done. There is no schedule, it is not part of the daily loops email, and each reading counts toward your plan's requests for the day and your limits.
  • What it is not: legal advice. A clause it does not flag can still matter to you - for anything important, a lawyer is the one to ask.

This is a plain reading of your document, not legal advice. For anything that matters, ask a lawyer.
