Cost Cutting

Add up the costs you pay again and again - rent, bills, subscriptions, insurance - and see what they come to a month and a year, which weigh most, and where EDM can look for less.

Cost Cutting explained 🔰
  • It adds up your recurring costs - up to 40, each with its amount in dollars, how often you pay it and what kind of cost it is.
  • You get the total for a month and for a year, each cost's share of it from the largest down, what your 3 largest costs take together, and every kind you pay for more than once.
  • Where to look for less: for rent, energy, subscriptions, groceries, fuel, health insurance, and loans and cards, the loop that works on that kind of cost - shown only once that loop is open.
  • Keep your list under the check and it is checked again once a month - what your costs come to in a month and a year and which weigh most - and you are told which went up since the last check. It can start from the subscriptions you keep in Subscription Audit and the bills you keep in Bill Chaser, for you to change.
  • How often: a list you save is first read at the next hourly run if your limits allow it, then once a month. Saving never brings a run sooner than 6 hours after the last one started.
  • Run now checks your list by hand, once a day across all your loops, and only while none of them is in the middle of a run. If 3 checks in a row do not finish, the list pauses, and saving it again starts it over. To stop it, remove your list; what earlier checks found is kept.
  • Who sees it: nobody but you. The check above does the sums on your own device and sends or saves nothing. A list you keep is saved with your account and sent to no other service. A name may be up to 80 characters long.
  • What it does not do: guess what you could save, cancel or pay anything for you, or keep what you type in the check above.
Your recurring costs

Up to 40 costs, each with what you pay and how often.

Nothing you type here leaves your browser or is kept - close the page and it is gone. No account needed.

Keep your costs

Keep your list here and Cost Cutting checks it again every month - the same check as above - and tells you when the month is in and which costs went up. Only you see your list.
