Fuel and Charging
Where to fill up or charge for less, near the places you choose - for your own vehicles. Each day a run reads the prices around each of your areas, works out which station is worth the drive for each vehicle, and tells you once when a price falls under a line you set.
Fuel and Charging explained 🔰
- It finds where to fill up or charge for less near the places you choose, for each of your own vehicles.
- You enter up to 2 areas - your account address or a town or neighborhood - each within 1 to 25 km, up to 3 vehicles with what they run on, up to 5 stations of your own and up to 4 prices to be told under. Each area is placed once when you save, and prices are looked up for the rough area around it, not the spot itself.
- Each check reads the prices around each area - official prices where a country publishes them, prices members report, some US chains' own prices near you, and your own stations' pages where they can be read - and the charging sites that take your plugs, with each site's price as listed where it gives one and whether a charger is free now where that is known. Then it works out, for each vehicle, the station worth the drive - what a fill-up saves there, less what the drive there and back burns - and shows the area's average where one is published. For a vehicle that charges, it names the cheapest hours to charge at home tonight where hourly prices cover the area.
- A price under a line you set is told once while it stays under. Use Report a price for a price you saw, or say whether a charger worked - members near you see your report.
- Log this fill-up keeps your last 100 fill-ups and works out from your own figures what your driving costs between them and which day of the week was cheapest. A check never reads them.
- How often: once a day, from 6 pm your time, each member's check starting at a minute of its own shortly after, the same each day.A check earlier that day - your first, or one by hand - does not take the evening's place. A save that only changes your prices to be told under, or renames a vehicle or an area, leaves a paused loop paused; changing an area, a vehicle's fuel, plugs or size, or a station starts it again.
- Check now starts a run by hand, once a day across all your loops, and only while none of them is in the middle of a run. Your loops also share a spending limit; a run it holds back waits for its next turn.
- If 3 runs in a row fail, the loop pauses. Resume starts it again.
- A daily email sums up what your loops found - one email a day, and only on a day one of them found something. It is on until you switch it off - on a loop's page once the loop is part of your plan, or, if your plan includes Loops, on your dashboard.
- To stop it, use Remove your areas and vehicles; your logged fill-ups go with them. Its past runs are kept.
