Grant Finder

Tell it what your organization does, where, and what kind of organization it is. Each week it looks for open grants that fit, tells you of each one once - who gives it, the award and who may apply, when the notice says - and reminds you a week before applications are due, again the day before, and on the day.

Grant Finder explained 🔰
  • It finds open grants that fit what your organization does, the kind of organization it is and the region it works in, tells you of each one once, and reminds you before each deadline.
  • You enter up to 3 short descriptions of what your organization does, each up to 200 characters, your region - a country, a state or a city - and the kind of organization it is.
  • Each search looks through federal grant notices open to your kind of organization, and on the web for state, local and foundation grants published since the last whole search - 60 days back the first time, and again after you change your words. It keeps only open grants that fit. Up to 6 new ones a run are listed, each linked to its notice, with who gives it, the award, who may apply and the deadline where the notice says so; any more follow with the next run.
  • Reminders: each deadline is told 7 days ahead, the day before and on the day, once each. A grant that gives no deadline is told once and not reminded.
  • Write it opens Proposal Maker with the grant filled in - who gives it, its name, its deadline and who may apply - for you to read, change and ask for a draft yourself. One kind of grant has no draft: a grant from the National Institutes of Health, whose card says "This funder asks applicants to write their application themselves, so there is no draft for it."
  • How often: new or changed words are searched at the next hourly run if your limits allow it. Saving never brings a run sooner than 6 hours after the last one started. After that it runs once a day for the reminders and searches once a week; a run in between, by hand too, only tells the deadlines already found. A search that did not finish is tried again a day later, then at longer gaps.
  • Run now starts a run by hand, once a day across all your loops, and only while none of them is in the middle of a run. Your loops also share a spending limit; a run it holds back waits for its next turn.
  • If 3 runs in a row fail, the loop pauses. Resume starts it again.
  • A daily email sums up what your loops found - one email a day, and only on a day one of them found something. It is on until you switch it off - on a loop's page once the loop is part of your plan, or, if your plan includes Loops, on your dashboard.
  • What it is not: a full register, or a promise of money. A grant shown only to signed-in applicants is never found, and the deadline, the award and who may apply are the notice's own words - read the funder's notice before you apply. What it finds is for you alone and never becomes a Grow lead, and no email address or phone number from a notice is kept.
  • To stop it, use Remove your organization. Its reminders stop, and its past runs are kept.
