Home Inventory
Walk your home room by room with up to 3 photos a room, and Home Inventory lists the things in each and how many of each - you check every count before you save. If you ever need to show your insurer what you had, your list is here.
Home Inventory explained 🔰
- It keeps a list of what you own, room by room - up to 20 rooms or areas, each with up to 60 kinds of things and how many of each - so you can show your insurer what you had if you ever need to.
- You walk a room with up to 3 photos of it. Each kind of thing the photos show is listed once, with how many and the photo it shows in when the reading names one - things that look alike can share a row, so check each row against your photos. Your photos are read twice, and a row the two readings do not agree on is marked for you to check.
- You correct every count before anything goes into the room, and the room changes only when you save. What a walk's photos showed is kept only for a short while after it, for you to put into the room. The list holds what the photos showed - what was out of view, in a drawer or behind a door is yours to add by hand.
- Walk a room again and each thing is shown beside what the room held - new, more or fewer - with what the room held that the new photos did not show, for you to keep on the list or take off.
- Reminders: 14 days before your home or renters policy renews, and a year after your last walk, it reminds you to walk your home again. The renewal day may be filled in from a date you keep in Deadlines.
- How often: a new or changed renewal day is taken up at the next hourly run if your limits allow it. Saving never brings a run sooner than 6 hours after the last one started. After that your inventory is looked at once a day, and a run costs nothing. Each walk of a room counts toward your plan's requests for the day and your limits.
- Run now starts a run by hand, once a day across all your loops, and only while none of them is in the middle of a run. Your loops also share a spending limit; a run it holds back waits for its next turn.
- If 3 runs in a row fail, the loop pauses. Resume starts it again.
- A daily email sums up what your loops found - one email a day, and only on a day one of them found something. It is on until you switch it off - on a loop's page once the loop is part of your plan, or, if your plan includes Loops, on your dashboard.
- What it does not do: share your list with an insurer or anyone else, keep your photos with it, or say anything is all there. Your notifications and the daily email never name a room or a thing; only this page does.
- To stop it, use Remove your inventory. Your list and what your photos showed are deleted, and what its past runs told is kept.
