Music Practice
Tell Music Practice your instrument, how well you play now, how many minutes a day you have and a piece or song you want to learn. It plans each day's warm-up, technique and the next part of your piece, and moves you on as you keep at it.
Music Practice explained 🔰
- It plans your week of practice - 7 days, each a warm-up, one technique and the next part of the piece you are learning, named by its bars or its section, in 5 to 90 minutes a day.
- You enter your instrument, how well you play now, the minutes a day you have, and a piece or song you want to play - or none, for a short exercise in its place.
- Each run writes a new week once a week, or sooner when you change your practice; on every other day it tells you today's practice. Tick Done today or Done yesterday - a tick is recorded at once and starts no run.
- How it moves you on: each week is planned at a step from 1 to 10. When you tick every day of a week, the next week asks a step more of you; when you tick half or fewer, it is eased a step.
- How often: once a day. A new or changed practice is taken up at the next hourly run if your limits allow it. Saving never brings a run sooner than 6 hours after the last one started.
- Run now starts a run by hand, once a day across all your loops, and only while none of them is in the middle of a run. Your loops also share a spending limit; a run it holds back waits for its next turn.
- If 3 runs in a row fail, the loop pauses. Resume starts it again.
- A daily email sums up what your loops found - one email a day, and only on a day one of them found something. It is on until you switch it off - on a loop's page once the loop is part of your plan, or, if your plan includes Loops, on your dashboard.
- What it does not do: write out a song's words or its music, or hear or keep your recordings. Read the bars it names in your own music; a clip you post goes to Social through Social Clip, and only when you post it.
- To stop it, use Remove your music practice. Your practice and your ticks are deleted, and its past runs are kept.
