Trip Preparation

Save your trip - where it starts, the stops in between with their days, and your passports. You get a briefing that covers every country of your trip - the official travel advice, the weather, the money and what to eat, see and do. Then it checks every week, and every day in the last week, and tells you only what changed - with reminders for the visa and the passport in time.

Trip Preparation explained 🔰
  • It prepares you for one trip: a briefing that covers every country on it, then checks that tell you only what changed, and reminders for your visa and passport in time.
  • You enter where the trip starts and how it ends - back where it starts, at another place or at your last stop, with no way back - up to 4 stops with their days, the countries of up to 2 passports, and who travels and why. Left empty, the start and your first passport's country are filled in from the address on your account.
  • The briefing brings the official travel advice for each country together, with the weather - the forecast once your days are close enough, before that what those days were like in past years - the money, public holidays, getting around, phone and power, what to eat, see and do around each place, what to carry and what to pack, and your route on a map. It is written for a new or changed trip, again 2 days before you leave, and each time you use Brief me again now.
  • Each check tells only what changed - the official advice, news of a strike or unrest near a stop, the forecast, a notable day, a large move in a currency. A visa or travel authorization to apply for, and a passport that expires too soon for your dates, are each told once, in time.
  • How often: a new or changed trip is briefed at the next hourly run if your limits allow it. Saving never brings a run sooner than 6 hours after the last one started. After that it is looked at once a day - most days only for its reminders - and checked once a week until the last 7 days before you leave, then every day until the trip ends.
  • Brief me again now starts a run by hand, once a day across all your loops, and only while none of them is in the middle of a run. Your loops also share a spending limit; a run it holds back waits for its next turn.
  • If 3 runs in a row fail, the loop pauses. Resume starts it again.
  • A daily email sums up what your loops found - one email a day, and only on a day one of them found something. It is on until you switch it off - on a loop's page once the loop is part of your plan, or, if your plan includes Loops, on your dashboard.
  • When it ends: The day after your trip's last day nothing runs again. A trip that is over is deleted 90 days after its last day, with your passports and its briefings.
  • To stop it, use Remove your trip: your trip goes, and your passports and its briefings with it. The list of its past runs is kept, without the briefings.
