Housing Rights
Pick the topics that matter for your home - notice, the deposit, repairs, a rent increase or neighbor noise - and the day each one counts from. Every week it tells you the usual rules and steps for your country, and the dates that matter. It covers 170 of 246 countries, each one in the country list below. Legal information, not legal advice - every rule shows where it comes from. For advice on your case, ask a lawyer or a tenants' advice service.
Housing Rights explained 🔰
- It finds the usual rules in your country on the topics you pick - notice, the deposit, repairs, a rent increase and neighbor noise - each step with the public page it comes from, saying whether it is the tenant's or the landlord's.
- You enter your country and each topic once, with the day it counts from - your lease's end day and the notice period your lease states, your move-out day, the day you asked for a repair, the day a rent increase was announced or the day the noise began. No other person is named, and only your country and the topic are ever sent anywhere.
- The dates: your lease's end and the last day to give notice under it are worked out from what you entered; each time limit a source states is counted from your day - back from your lease's end for notice. A date within 14 days comes first, then one within 60 days.
- Shared, never yours alone: the rules for a country and a topic are read once a month and shared with everyone who asks the same - nothing about you or your home is in them. Up to 3 are looked up a run, the rest on the next.
- How often: new or changed topics are read at the next hourly run if your limits allow it, then once a week, with a reminder before each date. Saving never brings a run sooner than 6 hours after the last one started.
- Run now starts a run by hand, once a day across all your loops, and only while none of them is in the middle of a run. Your loops also share a spending limit; a run it holds back waits for its next turn.
- If 3 runs in a row fail, the loop pauses. Resume starts it again.
- A daily email sums up what your loops found - one email a day, and only on a day one of them found something. It is on until you switch it off - on a loop's page once the loop is part of your plan, or, if your plan includes Loops, on your dashboard.
- To stop it, use Remove your topics. Its past runs are kept.
- Legal information, not legal advice - every rule shows where it comes from. For advice on your case, ask a lawyer or a tenants' advice service.
