Wind Down

Choose the hour you want to start winding down and the nights. At that hour Wind Down sends you one calm idea for the night, and it counts the nights you tick.

Wind Down explained 🔰
  • It nudges you to wind down before bed - on each night you chose, one calm idea for the night: lights down, screens away, a slow breathing pattern, tomorrow's list on paper and more, from a fixed list of 30. No idea comes back within 14 days.
  • You enter the hour you want the nudge - pick one about 45 minutes before you want to be asleep - and the nights: every night, or Sunday to Thursday. Nothing about your sleep is asked.
  • Each run plans your week once a week, or sooner when you change the nights; on every other day it tells you tonight's idea from the hour you picked (until you pick one, from 10 pm on your clock). Tick Done today that night or Done yesterday the next morning - a tick is recorded at once and starts no run. A night you did not choose keeps your streak.
  • How often: once a day. A new or changed plan is taken up at the next hourly run if your limits allow it. Saving never brings a run sooner than 6 hours after the last one started.
  • Run now starts a run by hand, once a day across all your loops, and only while none of them is in the middle of a run. Your loops also share a spending limit; a run it holds back waits for its next turn.
  • If 3 runs in a row fail, the loop pauses. Resume starts it again.
  • A daily email sums up what your loops found - one email a day, and only on a day one of them found something. It is on until you switch it off - on a loop's page once the loop is part of your plan, or, if your plan includes Loops, on your dashboard.
  • For anyone: the bedtime calculator above needs no account - type when you want to wake up, and it shows bedtimes and when to start winding down, worked out on your screen and kept nowhere.
  • What it does not do: treat a sleep problem. It suggests and counts. If poor sleep lasts for weeks, talk to a doctor.
  • To stop it, use Remove your wind-down. Your nights and your ticks are deleted, and its past runs are kept.
What time should I go to bed?

Type the time you want to wake up. You get bedtimes that leave whole blocks of 90 minutes of sleep, counting 15 minutes to fall asleep, and when to start winding down. It is worked out on this page - nothing you type is sent or kept.
