Skill Plan

Tell Skill Plan the skill you want, how well you know it, the hours you have a week and a goal date if you have one. It plans a short unit each week - 3 to 7 steps, sized to your hours - with a hands-on task, and steps up as you keep going.

Skill Plan explained 🔰
  • It plans your week of learning - a short unit of the skill you choose, a step of it each day and a hands-on task to end the week, on 3 to 7 days sized to the 1 to 20 hours a week you have. Each unit's first day gives you the words to search for free lessons on it.
  • You enter the skill in your own words, how well you know it, your hours a week and a goal date if you have one.
  • Each run writes a new week once a week, or sooner when you change your plan; on every other day it tells you today's step. Tick Done today or Done yesterday - a tick is recorded at once and starts no run.
  • How it steps up: each week is planned at a step from 1 to 10, from the first basics to confident everyday use at work. When you tick every step of a week, the next week moves a step on; when you tick half or fewer, it goes over the ground again. A rest day keeps your streak.
  • How often: once a day. A new or changed plan is taken up at the next hourly run if your limits allow it. Saving never brings a run sooner than 6 hours after the last one started.
  • Run now starts a run by hand, once a day across all your loops, and only while none of them is in the middle of a run. Your loops also share a spending limit; a run it holds back waits for its next turn.
  • If 3 runs in a row fail, the loop pauses. Resume starts it again.
  • A daily email sums up what your loops found - one email a day, and only on a day one of them found something. It is on until you switch it off - on a loop's page once the loop is part of your plan, or, if your plan includes Loops, on your dashboard.
  • Your Talent Profile is yours: Skill Plan adds nothing to it. When you are ready, add what you learned there yourself - employers searching EDM Jobs read it.
  • To stop it, use Remove your skill plan. Your plan and your ticks are deleted, and its past runs are kept.
