Update Check
List your computers, phones and tablets. Once a month it checks whether each system still gets security updates, and tells you the one step to take for each that is out of support or behind. It checks published support dates; it never connects to your devices.
Update Check explained 🔰
- It checks each device you list against the published support dates of its system, and tells you the one step to take for each that is out of support or behind.
- You enter up to 10 devices - a name of your own, its system and the version its settings show. Your device's name and its version are never sent anywhere; the version is matched on our side.
- Out of support comes first, with the step: update to the newest release - or, if the device cannot take it, plan to replace it. A support end within 90 days comes next, then a device behind on its updates.
- Another system, one not on the list, gets the published steps to keep it updated, each with where it comes from - up to 3 looked up a run, the rest on the next.
- Shared, never yours alone: a system's support dates are read once a month and shared with everyone who asks the same - nothing about you or your devices is in them.
- How often: new or changed devices are read at the next hourly run if your limits allow it, then once a month. Saving never brings a run sooner than 6 hours after the last one started.
- Run now starts a run by hand, once a day across all your loops, and only while none of them is in the middle of a run. Your loops also share a spending limit; a run it holds back waits for its next turn.
- If 3 runs in a row fail, the loop pauses. Resume starts it again.
- A daily email sums up what your loops found - one email a day, and only on a day one of them found something. It is on until you switch it off - on a loop's page once the loop is part of your plan, or, if your plan includes Loops, on your dashboard.
- To stop it, use Remove your devices. Its past runs are kept.
Is this device still supported?
Check the system and the browser you are using now against their published support dates - no account needed. Nothing about your device is kept.
